Documentation Specialist - Technical Writer (Part-time)

Produces written documentation meant to aid in the development, training and support of the organization and its programs. Additionally, emulates the organization’s standards and guidelines through our values by being respectful in our approach, empowered to succeed, innovative together and having integrity in all we do.


Duties/Responsibilities


  • Create, edit, and maintain technical documentation for current and future applications i.e., technical reference manuals, release notes, and production control manuals
  • Create, edit, and maintain procedural documentation including but not limited to procedures and/or user guides and application guides
  • Create, edit, and maintain newsletters for associated releases
  • Write, edit, produce, and maintain on-line (e-course development) documentation
  • Develop documentation project plans and timelines
  • Collaborate with departmental programmers to collect and interpret input from IT or other departmental personnel
  • Maintain documentation standards and keep abreast of current information by associating with professional individuals or societies or by reviewing professional publications, newsletters, e-mail, and Web sites
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein

 Skills/Requirements


  • A minimum of one year writing experience, preferably in a technical field with an emphasis on technical documentation
  • Knowledge of Help + Manual software or other Help site editing programs are preferred but not required
  • Background with Azure DevOps (VSTS) is preferred but not required
  • Proficient with Office 365, including Word, PowerPoint
  • Must work well independently and be self-motivated
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong attention to detail
  • Strong research skills
  • Strong grammar skills


 Hours


25 hours per week during business hours of Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm.  A set schedule will be determined based on candidate and management needs.
